As social media continues to grow and influence our daily lives, we cannot deny the impact it has on our business. Attracting, retaining, and servicing online customers is different from traditional customers, but both are based upon building relationships. Avon gives us great tools to grow and maintain an online customer base. We have email services, Avon Social (a social media platform to manage online content), and our own website to share with customers. Add great customer service to these great tools, and you can run a successful online Avon business.

Social Media

How many times a day do you check Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? Probably a lot — and you are not alone. The power of social media lies in the fact that you can share information with a large audience very quickly. This especially works great for direct sales companies like Avon because we can easily share our favorite products with friends near and far. As long as you avoid spammy posts, you will attract new customers with your enthusiasm and love for the products. Plus, Avon offers unique videos and images that we can share too!

Right now, I currently leverage Facebook and Pinterest for my Avon business, but I’m looking to expand. Since Reps get a personalized website, it’s easy to spread the Avon love. I recommend getting comfortable with one or two social media platforms and grow your business from there.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is another effective way to grow your online business. You should always collect email addresses from potential customers especially if they received a catalog or samples. By doing this, you can follow-up with them and also add them to your Avon address book. Avon sends out daily emails to highlight special offers to those that subscribe. This is a great way to stay connected and build relationships!

Blogging

Well if I didn’t create my own website, you wouldn’t have found me! I started my blog back in 2018 as a way to showcase my favorite products. I enjoy writing, so this was a relatively easy start-up for me. Blogging is a great way to get your name out on the internet outside of social media. Once you learn about key words and search engines, you have an opportunity to reach many people. What an awesome and effective way to share your love for Avon!

Google Business

As I mentioned earlier, you want to learn about search engines and growing your online business beyond social media. I use Google Maps often and for many reasons, so I recently decided to list my Avon business. This is a fantastic way to connect with potential local customers!

How To Become an Avon Representative

What’s It Like To Be An Avon Rep

If you are curious about becoming an Avon Representative, you are in the right place. Hi, I’m Danielle and I’ve been a Rep since 2015. I originally joined because I was a longtime customer and I loved the products. Every few months, I would place an online order (I didn’t have a personal connection to a Rep) to refill my favorite products. My mother and sisters like Avon as well, so occasionally they would add onto my order. On May 1st, 2015, I decided to become a Rep! I was excited to have easy access to my favorite products AND get a discount at the same time.

Well, the fun didn’t stop there. I quickly learned that I gained access to new products before they launch, special incentives that were coming our way, and of course, a sneak peek of the holiday collection! How exciting! My plan to get a personal discount quickly morphed into something more. I found joy in sharing my love for Avon, meeting new people, and stepping outside of my comfort zone. In the 3+ years that I’ve been a Rep, I’ve developed skills and behaviors that have made me a better person. Avon is so much more than beauty products. What’s It Like To Be A Rep?

Well first of all, it is fun! Avon launches 26 Campaigns a year – one every 2 weeks – that introduces new products and special deals. I’m sure you are thinking, “how do I keep up with catalogs that change that quickly!” Don’t worry, it’s easy! Besides new product launches, the bulk of the catalog doesn’t change every Campaign. Once you become familiar with the products and the layout of the catalog, you’ll be excited to get the new one every two weeks. I love that Avon frequently launches new products; I get excited every time a new Campaign begins!

As a Rep, you have the option to sell face-to-face, exclusively online, or a combination of both. Your choice! Avon offers a free customized estore that Reps can share with friends and family. Avon also offers a Rep-only website to place orders, take training classes, share social media content, and so much more. The opportunity to learn and improve your business is endless! The tools that Avon provides really give you a head start.

Here are the basics:

  • You purchase a kit to get started (just $30 and you get to pick a product bundle!)
  • There are no quotas! Sell as much or as little as you want. You just need to get or place an order (any size) once every 3 months to remain active
  • There are no website fees
  • You earn 40% on your first order and you can continue to do so by hitting various goals.  Once you are past the initial kickstart period, most Reps typically earn 20-40% commission
